Period, Where R U?

If you read The Pink Locker Society, you know that I have not yet gotten my period. And that this fact is very much on my mind (though less so now that I know plenty of other girls my age are still waiting).

But today, we're going to tackle a different issue that affects TONS of girls based on the many questions we've recieved. The issue is: What if you got your period once, twice, or a few times, and then ... NOTHING. You're waiting, and, hello? Period, where did you go?

I went straight to my doctor friend with this one and she was happy to tell me that this is VERY NORMAL especially in the first year after a girl gets her first period. Here's what she suggests:

1. Write down on a calendar the first day of your period. That way you'll know for sure how long it's been between periods.

2. Remember that a normal cycle is between 21 and 45 days. Always count from the first day of your last period.

3. If you're concerned or have questions, talk to a parent and/or your doctor.
